Privacy Policy

Simple Telugu Bible ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Simple Telugu Bible with AI mobile application (the "App"). This page explains what information the App uses, why, and what stays on your device.

The Short Version

• Bible reading is fully offline and private. The scripture text, your bookmarks, reading position, and settings never leave your device.
• No account, no login, no email. The App identifies you only by a random anonymous ID.
• AI features are optional. If you use AI Chat or voice reading, your question and the passage you are reading are sent to our server for processing. Nothing else is.
• No ads. No selling of data. No tracking across apps.

What Stays on Your Device

• Bible text: All 66 books are bundled with the App. Reading requires no internet access.
• Reading preferences: Font size, line spacing, theme, and language settings are stored locally.
• Reading position and bookmarks: Saved locally so you can continue where you left off.
• Chat history: Your AI conversations are stored only on your device. We do not keep a copy of your chat history on our servers.

What Is Sent to Our Servers (AI Features Only)

When you use AI Chat or premium voice reading, the App sends the following to our server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to generate the response or audio:

• The question or message you typed
• The Bible passage you are currently reading (for context)
• Recent messages in the same conversation (so follow-up questions make sense)
• Your anonymous ID and language preference

We use Google's paid Gemini API tier, which means your conversations are not used by Google to train its AI models. Requests are processed to generate a response and to enforce usage limits; we do not build profiles from them.

Anonymous Identity

The App uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to create a random identifier on first launch. This ID contains no personal information — no name, no email, no phone number — and we cannot use it to identify you. It exists so that:

• Your daily free AI message allowance can be counted
• Your subscription (if you buy one) can be linked to your device

Subscriptions and Payments

Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. When you subscribe, Google Play gives our server a purchase token, which we verify with Google and store — linked only to your anonymous ID — so the App knows your subscription is active. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Google Play → Subscriptions.

Crash Reporting

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive anonymous crash reports (device model, Android version, and a technical trace of what failed). This helps us fix bugs. Crash reports contain no personal information and no content of your conversations.

Permissions

The App requests only the Internet permission, used exclusively for the optional AI features, subscription verification, and crash reporting. The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, or files.

Data Retention

• Daily usage counters expire automatically within 48 hours.
• Subscription records are kept while your subscription is active and expire after it lapses.
• Everything else lives on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.

Third-Party Services

The App relies on these services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Play Billing — subscription payments
• Firebase (Authentication, App Check, Crashlytics) — anonymous identity, app integrity, crash reports
• Google Gemini API — AI responses and voice generation (paid tier; not used for model training)

The App contains no advertising SDKs and no analytics that track you across other apps or websites.

Children's Privacy

The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. AI conversations are processed anonymously as described above.

Data Security

All communication with our servers uses HTTPS encryption. Server-side records are limited to the anonymous data described above. Everything else is protected by your device's own security.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and are effective when posted.
